Helping You Communicate with Confidence

Communication is essential for leading an active and fulfilling life. Speech is a complex process involving the tongue, lips, palate, and breath working together to form words and sentences. At Reems Audiology Clinic, we provide personalized speech therapy services to help individuals overcome communication challenges at any age.

Effective Communication Across All Ages

Speech plays a vital role in helping individuals lead an active life within society. Forming speech sounds involves a complex interaction between the tongue, lips, palate, and breath to create words and sentences. However, speech and language difficulties can arise at any stage of life. For instance, a young child might struggle with learning words or forming sounds, while an adult who has experienced a stroke may face challenges in speaking due to brain damage. In such cases, a speech pathologist or therapist can provide essential support.

Complete Assessment and Tailored Therapy

At Reems Audiology Clinic, speech therapy begins with a thorough assessment and diagnosis. This process includes interviews, observations, and standardized tests to understand the client's challenges. Based on the findings, we create a customized therapy program designed to address the individual's specific needs.

For children, speech therapy is made enjoyable with play-based techniques to build rapport and ensure a fun learning experience. For adults, therapy sessions can be more structured and challenging. Each session lasts 40 minutes, with the frequency of sessions varying based on individual requirements and availability.

Voice Therapy at REEMS Audiology Clinic

Your voice is an essential part of your personality and plays a key role in effective communication. Voice disorders occur when there are issues with pitch, loudness, or quality, which can distract listeners and cause discomfort while speaking. Other associated problems may include difficulty swallowing or breathing.

Common Causes of Voice Disorders

Voice disorders may result from infections, injuries, vocal cord paralysis, or tumors in the larynx. People in professions that demand high vocal use, such as teachers, singers, street vendors, and factory workers, are particularly susceptible to voice problems caused by misuse or overuse. These issues can lead to conditions like vocal nodules, polyps, or cysts, causing hoarseness or discomfort. Additionally, conditions like Puberphonia (habitual high-pitched voice in males after puberty) and Androphonia (low-pitched male-like voice in females) can also affect individuals.

At Reems Audiology Clinic, we provide a detailed evaluation to assess all aspects of voice quality. Once the root cause of the voice disorder is identified, we create a tailored treatment plan that includes exercises to re-strengthen and balance the laryngeal mechanism, ensuring proper voice projection and respiratory patterns.

Let Reems Audiology Clinic help you rediscover your voice and communication confidence.
